Naush Sabah

Editor and Publishing Director

Naush is a writer, editor, and educator from the West Midlands. Heredity/ASTYNOME, a limited edition double micro-pamphlet box set, was published as a Legitimate Snack in 2020 and her debut pamphlet, Litanies, was published by Guillemot Press in 2021. Her writing has appeared in the TLS, PN Review, Modern Poetry in Translation, Magma, and elsewhere. She is a trustee at Poetry London, and Co-founder and Editor at Large at Pallina Press. She completed an MA in Creative Writing, with Distinction, and is a visiting lecturer at Birmingham City University. Her short play, Coins, was staged at The Rep and longlisted for the Pint Sized Plays competition (2019).

Ibrahim Hirsi

Editorial Assistant

Ibrahim Hirsi is a student, writer and peer researcher for the Centre for Mental Health. A digital Somali cultural archivist and independent researcher; his writings explore the changes that occurred in Somali culture and society during colonialism and to the present day. His work has appeared in PBLJ and he has worked as a consultant on Asmaa Jama’s interactive short film Before We Disappear.

Sana Goyal

Marketing and Outreach

Sana Goyal is a PhD candidate in literary prize cultures at SOAS, University of London. Previously Digital Editor, she now serves as an Associate Editor at Wasafiri. Her work has appeared in a number of publications, including The Guardian, the Los Angeles Review of Books, Brixton Review of Books, Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal, Poetry London, Wasafiri, Mint Lounge, India, and Vogue India. She lives between Birmingham and Bombay and tweets @SansyG.

Adrian B. Earle

Events Partner

Adrian is Managing Director at VerseFirst Productions, where he produces the podcasts Why Poetry? and Alone Together. He is Creative Development Lead at the poetry app Overhear where he also manages the workshop programme. He is a Hippodrome Young Poet (2019) and a BBC New Creative (2019). His poetry film boyshapedspace was commissioned by Rural Media and won joint first prize at the Newlyn PZ International Film Festival (2020); it was selected for both the Zebra Film Festival and the Film and Video Poetry Symposium that year. Adrian’s debut pamphlet, 5000HURTS, was published by Burning Eye Books in 2019 and his first full collection, We Are Always and Forever Ending, was published by Broken Sleep Books in 2021.

Suna Afshan

Editor-at-Large

Suna is Co-founder and Editor at Pallina Press, and on the Editorial Board of Broken Sleep Books. She holds a BA in English and an MA in Creative Writing from Birmingham City University; in 2018, she was awarded the University's Mercian Prize for her poetry. Suna’s work has appeared or is forthcoming in The London Magazine, Modern Poetry in Translation, The TLS, Stand, Magma, Wild Court, and others. Suna’s 2020 micro-pamphlet is Belladonna, a 200-line poem, published with the Broken Sleep Books imprint Legitimate Snack.
