Ana Reisens
Someday I Will
live in the wind.
Someday I will have feathers
for hands and rivers for skin.
(this yearning!)
Someday I will catch
the glint upon the sand,
the petal in my hand
(my breath).
Someday I will land.
Someday it will all
be different. We will love
without conditions, will ache
in ways that are only ever
luminous, will carry sparrows
in our eyes and blossoms
on our lips
(they will taste like
teacups, like sweetgrass
beneath the rain, like everything
we have ever missed).
Meanwhile the wind.
Meanwhile the mountains
and pinesap and thistles
(this bliss).
